IDRI IS RECOGNIZED BY THE VERSAILLES EDUCATION AUTHORITY AND BY THE NATIONAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.

THE PRIVATE EDUCATION ACT

In a decision of November 23, 1977, the Constitutional Council considered that the freedom of education was enshrined into the fundamental principles recognized by the laws of the Republic.

The fundamental laws which define the private education legal status:
- The Goblet statutory law regarding primary education;
- The Falloux statutory law regarding secondary education;
- The Astier statutory law regarding technical education (which affects IDRI).
- The December 31, 1959 legislation No. 59-1557, also called the “Debré law” provided for the definition of the present relationship between the State and the private education schools.
· Diploma status:
It is the State which has the monopoly as far as the grades and university titles such as “diploma”, “licence”, and “master”.
Therefore private institutions not included in a contract with the State cannot use these terms.
The private education institutions issue school certificates (IDRI issues a State approved Image Consultant Certificate).

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PRIVATE EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AND THE STATE

Contractual agreements between private institutions and the State:
Private institutions can be off contract (as is IDRI), or connected to the State by a simple contract (as the primary schools) or have a partnership agreement.

State control over private institutions:
Every private institution, whatever its relationship to the State, must undergo inspections.
For the private, off contract institutions like ours the inspections are directed to the titles and diplomas we demand for our directors and educators; our education criteria; our respect for law and order, as well as our social and sanitary safety standards.
· The inspections regarding the educational content were intensified by the December 18, 1998 legislation No. 98-1165.

Further more, the “Institut de Relooking International” (IRDI) is also registered in the National and Academic Registry for the Institutions of the French Education System (Répertoire national et académique des établissements du Système Educatif Français: RAMSESE).

I.D.R.I is the only Image Consulting school registered in this repertory.
Due to this new decision by the Versailles Education Authority and National Education Ministry, IDRI consolidates even further its professionalism by being the reference in the profession.
